Lance Armstrong's lawyer calls for lie detector tests all round

16 October 2012

Lance Armstrong’s lawyer Tim Herman has said he would like 26 witnesses who testified against Armstrong to be given a lie detector test. Herman is reported to have told Radio 5 Live:

“A lie detector test properly administered, I'm a proponent of that frankly, just personally. I wouldn't challenge the results of a lie detector test with good equipment, properly administered by a qualified technician.”

Dr Jamie Horder, co-editor of Sense About Lie Detectors said: "Lie detectors cannot accurately detect lies and so they can’t be used - as they are being proposed to be used here - to give indisputable evidence of deception or lying, especially in cases where there's already a body of forensic and other evidence."
