What is GiftAid?

If you pay tax in the UK you can increase the value of your donation by at least 20% at no further cost.

GiftAid is a Government scheme that allows charities to reclaim the basic rate of tax paid on all donations made by UK tax payers. This means that the value of your donation is increased by at least 20% at no further expense to you.

In order to be eligible for GiftAid you must be a UK tax payer, and pay sufficient tax within the tax year to cover the amount reclaimed by the charity.

To allow Sense About Science to reclaim the GiftAid on your donation, you need to confirm you are eligible and happy for us to do so signing the GiftAid section when making your donation.

For more information on the GiftAid scheme, visit the HMRC site.
