Sense About Science gives evidence to Peer Review Inquiry

11 May 2011

Tracey Brown tells Science and Technology Select Committee why Peer Review matters for public debates about science and medicine.

This continues our work promoting the importance of peer review as a public tool for understanding debates about science and evidence, from publishing our guide to peer review ‘I don’t know what to believe’, to running workshops for early career researchers in the UK, Europe and the USA, and running the largest ever international survey on peer review in 2009.

Also giving evidence to the inquiry were representatives from scientific and medical publishers and editors, including: Dr Philip Campbell, Editor-in-Chief, Nature Publishing Group; Robert Campbell, Senior Publisher, Wiley-Blackwell; Dr Fiona Godlee, Editor-in-Chief, BMJ Group; Dr Andrew Sugden, Deputy Editor & International Managing Editor, Science and Mayur Amin, Senior Vice President, Research & Academic Relations, Elsevier.

You can watch the live recording of both sessions.
